Friday April 16, 2004 NY to Peekskill (almost). After a week of coming home each night, we're back to a life on the road. Found a really neat Russian Orthodox Church in Mahopac (who'd-a-thought) on Friday. Apparently there's a significant number of Russian emigres in this neck of the woods. It's worth a visit and they don't mind visitors at all. Forgot the sunscreen today and got baked a bit. We stayed at the Bear Mountain Inn, which is a bit faded, but still a great place and not terribly expensive. If you live nearby you should try it, but I bet it's really crowded in summer. And maybe even now on nice weekends. |
