Still in the Endless Mountains.

I've got to say, this area is really gorgeous. It's hill after hill and there seems to be a view of farms and fields and rivers on each one of them. At one point I just sat on a guard rail let the wind wash over me and took in the scenery, which included a field of horses.

Boy, horses have a nice life. At least these did.

And the people are really friendly. I had one person offer me a ride in all of MA, RI, CT and NY. I had four offers on Saturday and Sunday. Maybe there's something about these small towns (and they certainly are small) that makes people friendlier - or maybe they just feel safer.

We visited the Pine Creek Gorge today (our day off). They call it the "Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania," which is a nice marketing thing, but it bears little resemblance to the "other" Grand Canyon. There are no high walls of rock. But it's a wonderful canyon, especially if you head out to the less travelled west side.

They have a flat bike path that right next to the creek with the canyon jutting up on both sides. We didn't have time for the ride, but I know my wife would love it. They also have rafting trips down the river and horseback and covered wagon trips through the canyon. The covered wagon rides are the areas most popular attraction, I'm told.

I'd really like to spend more time here some day. I think it will happen.
