Thursday-Friday May 27-28, 2004 No walking. We took an extra day off in Sandusky, Ohio. This gave us a chance to Travis, I and a former neighbor from Connecticut visited Cedar Point on a gray, overcast day (I'm beginning to think that's all they have here). The weather was iffy enough to keep people away but not bad enough to shut down rides, so the lines were short. I braved several wooden coasters, but there was no way they were going to get me on those metal monsters. Um, what I meant to say was that Travis needed someone to hold his camera while he was riding, so I volunteered, sacrificing my chance to go on the metal monsters. Same weather today (is there anything else) at Put-in-Bay, so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. We got to explore the cabin of big iron hauling boat that had been placed on land and used as a summer home by a local family. The boat was originally owned by Henry Ford and named of one of his sons. We estimated that the boat was more than 50 feet high.... After two days "off" we're back on the road tomorrow. Hopefully we'll make it from Vermillion to just outside of Sandusky |
