Stockton IA to Atalissa

I'm very stuprised by this area. I expected flat lands with no hills. There are hills here. And some trees. Also lots and lots of corn and soybean. I think its pretty.

I must be back in the small towns area. I had three people offer me rides and many, many waived or beeped.

I visited a place that claims to be the oldest continuously operated soda fountain in the U.S. in the town of Wilton. The owner, George, has worked there since he was six and he's now 84. Before that his dad ran the store. George makes a great ice cream soda (he makes the ice cream himself and he and his wife Thelma make the syrups) Their chocolate syrup is delicious. I'll write about this interestng place this week.

I ended today just past a town that has a welcome sign that says: Atalissa pop. 271 and 2 grumps. Where else but America's Byway!

Oh, before I forget. Somehow the second part of yesterday's message didn't make it onto the GuestBook. I was just kidding about meeting Brett Farve. Everything else is true, though.
