Iowa City (Home of the Hawks) to Homestead I'm sure I'm speaking too soon, but Iowa has been great weather-wise. Who'da thought that I'd be chilly in Iowa in July. Well, I was indeed chilly this morning. I thought I made a mistake by not taking an extra shirt. I'm still surprised by the countryside here. Today there were more rolling hills. Not big enough to be intimidating, but enough to make for some very pretty country. Iowa City (Home of Iowa U.) is a big college football and Iowa U. town. There are statues of the mascot Herkey (a fighting hawk) all over the place. Companies are named for the Hawks. Even the t-shirt I wore today said: "Herkey on Parade". Apparently, they're selling the statues to raise money for a better statium.
