Sterling CO [within 80 miles of Denver]

Folks in Sterling walked with me this morning and they're planning a picnic tomorrow. Nice.

We're staying in the former public library, which has been converted to a bed and breakfast. I got the room with the whirlpool. Very nice!

We met a fascinating sculptor who does many-faced carvings in wood and marble.

We're still angling to get permission from Colorado State Patrol to walk on parts of I-76/Route6 (same road). Otherwise there will be some very long detours. Hopefully it will work out. In any case it looks as though I may be climbing over Loveland Pass rather than going throught Eisenhower tunnel. And it's already snowing in the mountains! Oh well.
