On The Road Again Well, I've had nearly a week off, my wife has come and gone (to and from Colorado), and we spent a wonderful two days up in Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. Fantastic! And, the ride back to Denver on the side roads was nearly as good. There are so many wonderful little towns here. Started walking again today. It was a little strange at first, but it was a short day because I reached an abandoned section of old Route 6. No cars allowed. So I had to decide whether to walk shorter or longer than I planned before getting picked up. I chose shorter. There was one point when I was standing on a small bridge over I-70 and I could look back and see the plains beyond Denver. I looked forward and the big mountains were dead ahead. Quite a feeling. It was at the I-70 exit for Genessee Village. There was also a herd of buffalo there. |
