Fruita, CO to UTAH!

We finally made it to UTAH! Nothing against Colorado, which was great. But every new state is a major advance now. Just three states left, counting Utah.

The final 10 miles in Colorado really look like desert. Shrub brush, cactus and lots of wide open spaces. It wasn't terribly hot today, but the sun was wickedly intense. It is a little scary out there all alone.

There are just a few cars that pass by each hour. Met some very interesting people in the little (215 people) town of Mack.

It's mostly desert for the next 700 miles or so. This will be a challenge. Notes of encouragement very much appreciated.

Also we had a little car scare today. Hopefully it will be history by tomorrow. Travis will be taking the GEO back to Grand Junction, just to make sure.
