Sevier Desert [Delta, Utah]

Well, today was one of the toughest on the trip, so far. I was in the desert, but that wasn't the problem. It wasn't the heat. It wasn't the sun (it was cloudy). It wasn't that there was no town, store, house, cottage or outhouse the entire way.

It was the dang wind. It was strong and it was in my face all day.

Twenty-two miles - all against the wind. Even when the road turned. The danged wind was still whipping in at me. Believe me, "danged" wasn't the word I used when I began talking with the wind.

On the other hand, there was a beautiful lake right in the middle of the desert. Or was there? I'll have to write about that this week. Really neat.

: If you ever long for the good old days, come to Delta, Utah. Everything here closes on Sundays. For food you have the choice of McDonalds and the one restaurant that stays open - and I had to search to find that. Even the ice cream place is closed. Actually, cereal isn't that bad for supper.
