Tonopah, Nevada to California line.

What a great sight to see the California line. Only one more state to cross. Nevada certainly didn't make it easy with all those mountains.

The road from Tonopah was a bit scarey. I knew we had one more big hill (Montgomery Pass, 7000 something feet) and I kept seeing all these snow-covered mountains west of Tonopah. I was thinking, I hope that's not where I'll cross. Well, they were higher than Montgomery, which it turns out had only a little snow.

But Nevada still had some fight left. I got rain, sleet and snow going up the pass. Nevada wasn't going to let me get away easy.

And, when we reached the California Line - it was raining. Sunny California, hmpf!

I've got to mention the sky Saturday. It was filled with hundreds of puffy little clouds. It looked like an ocean of cotton balls on a dark blue background that faded to pale blue at the edges. When you looked at the white mountains, it was hard to tell where the mountains stopped and the clouds began. With the sunbeams streaking through and bounding off the snow, it was - breathtaking.
