Independence to Lone Pine, CA

We're starting our last two weeks and I'm not sure exactly how far we are from Long Beach. If we go by he road signs LA is about 210. Since Long Beach is another 20 (I hope) we're right on target.

Unfortunately, the maps and MapQuest say the entire trip is about 245 miles, as best I can tell. So I'm being cautious and walking about 10 miles on my days off tomorrow and Monday. Hopefully that will give us a cushion or even put us ahead. I'd rather not walk Thanksgiving or the Monday before we finish.

The weather is getting warmer. I was pretty hot with a sweat jacket on today. On the other hand it was freezing in the morning.

We're on 395, the old 6, now. It's a pretty busy road, but I imagine it's going to get a lot busier as we move toward the city.
