Lancaster, CA to Sierra Highway [near Acton]

It was hard getting started after a day off and the legs are complaining quite a bit. But the folks in Rosemond, Lancaster, Palmdale and Acton made up for all of that.

About 20 of them stopped during the day to wish me well.

Some of them even travelled to make the visit. A lot of people waved and beeped as they drove by. It might not seem like much, but all of that makes the day much easier. Part of the credit goes to the local newspapers which carried stories of the walk in the past few days.

We're about 50-60 miles from LA, as best I can tell and another 30 or so to Long Beach. We should make it nearly to San Fernando today. We're back in hill country again, but I haven't hit any killer hills yet.
